I created this short film using footage I captured to document a series of performances I organized with my friends. These performances were a response to acts of police and institutional brutality against Black youth, specifically highlighting society’s “adultification” of Black children. My goal was to protest this process by creating a safe space where my friends could reconnect with the nostalgia of childhood through play.

Inspired by this work, I decided to design t-shirts/hoodies/masks, which have now come to life. All proceeds from these sales support Camp Village Inc., a program that has provided a safe space for predominantly Black youth for over 20 years, and we are committed to continuing this mission.
